Helical Staircase Manchester

D Wilson was contracted to enhance the atrium of the Co-Op building in Manchester with the design of this stylish helical staircase. The staircase compliments the open space and provides an executive feel to the journey to the first floor.

This challenging helical staircase was designed, manufactured and installed to compliment the impressive Co-Op Manchester building. Consisting of structural glass and rolled stainless steel.

  • Total rise: 4000mm

  • Tread width: 1500mm

  • Radius: R9000

 

Construction

This project included: Fabricated helical rolled box section stringers. Profiled folded plate to form closed treads & risers with a 45mm thick Granite finish. Curved toughened glass balustrade fixed into a central void within stringers. Helical rolled stainless steel handrail bonded to top of glass.
